Impact of Rural Education Programme

The LIC HFL Sathi Project, a landmark digital education initiative by Sanjeevani in partnership with LIC Housing Finance Limited’s CSR, has been completed. Designed to transform learning in 40 government schools across Uttarakhand’s Almora and Udham Singh Nagar districts, the project has equipped classrooms with modern e-learning systems, effectively bridging the digital divide for rural students.

By blending traditional teaching with interactive, technology-driven pedagogy, the initiative has significantly boosted student engagement, improved attendance, and fostered a renewed curiosity for learning. The tailored digital content directly addresses regional educational gaps, ensuring children in remote areas receive future-ready, inclusive education.

The seamless integration of smart classrooms and teacher training has already yielded measurable improvements in academic performance and digital literacy. This milestone reflects our shared commitment to empowering young minds through sustainable innovation. Thanks to LIC HFL CSR’s visionary support, Sanjeevani has established a lasting e-learning ecosystem that will uplift communities for generations. Thanks to the visionary support, the VidyaGyan Leadership Academy project—spearheaded in partnership with the Shiv Nadar Foundation, HCL, and Sanjeevani—has successfully concluded. Together, we identified, shortlisted, and enrolled 50 exceptionally meritorious students from economically underprivileged backgrounds across rural and urban communities in Almora, Uttarakhand.

VidyaGyan’s mission to bridge India’s urban-rural divide is now a thriving reality. These young scholars are receiving a fully residential, world-class education from Grades VI–XII, featuring 21st-century academics, leadership development, and holistic co-curricular programs—all completely free. Sanjeevani’s transparent, grassroots outreach ensured the most deserving candidates were fairly selected, while maintaining a strict 60:40 gender ratio to champion equity.

This initiative has already begun transforming lives, cultivating a new generation of rural leaders equipped to uplift their villages and drive national progress. The academic model we’ve built is proven, scalable, and designed for lasting community impact.

Partnering with AKS Hope Society and funded by CBM India, we successfully executed the Include Vidya Campaign across Almora’s Sult and Chaukhutia blocks. Surveying 100 government primary schools, we identified 32 children with disabilities and documented 20 detailed case studies highlighting their unique needs. Furthermore, we hosted a pivotal campaign hearing in Bakhli, uniting educationists and social workers to strongly advocate for inclusive education and targeted interventions for marginalized students.

As the District Coordinator for the DST-backed “Jan Vighyan Jagar” initiative, we successfully transformed rural mindsets in the Almora district. By utilizing culturally resonant nukkad natak (street plays) and grassroots campaigns in the local Kumaoni dialect, we bridged the gap between complex scientific reasoning and remote communities. This achievement not only helped eradicate deep-rooted superstitions but also fostered a lasting, positive shift toward a scientific temper across the region.

Proudly served as the District Coordinator for the National Children’s Science Congress in Almora, a prestigious educational initiative catalyzed and supported by the Department of Science and Technology (DST), Government of India. We spearheaded grassroots outreach to create a dynamic, engaging platform for school children, successfully igniting a deep-seated curiosity for scientific inquiry. By fostering an environment of critical thinking, hands-on learning, and a strong scientific temper, this initiative empowered and nurtured the next generation of local innovators and problem-solvers in the region.

In 2001, Sanjeevani established Shikhar Public School in the gram panchayat of Naula, located within the Bhikyasen development block of the Almora district. In the years that followed its founding, the school successfully operated classes ranging from LKG to the 8th grade, catering to the foundational and middle-school educational needs of the community. 

The primary objective of the institution was to impart high-quality, modern education to local children at highly affordable and reasonable prices. To achieve this, the school intentionally integrated contemporary teaching methodologies and scientific approaches into its daily curriculum. 

Furthermore, the instruction was primarily delivered by educated and professionally trained local youths. This strategic approach not only ensured dedicated, accessible, and culturally resonant teaching for the students, but it also actively empowered the surrounding community by generating meaningful employment and capacity-building opportunities for its young people.
